Googling Magazine
Google Maps got today an amazing new features allowing in certain cities to get a street side view of the place. The new feature is powered by Immersive Media, a company which take geo-tagged photos while driving along city streets, mainly for the defense industry and city planners. The new feature have been announced this morning at Where 2.0 Conference but seems not yet enabled for everyone, you can always check it here.
From the press release, Streetside view will be available initially in San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Las Vegas, Denver and Miami, then it will expand to expand to other metropolitan areas. A new "Street View" button have been added in options which wil let you navigate street level with panoramic imagery. Users can virtually walk the streets of a city, check out a restaurant before arriving, and even zoom in on bus stops and street signs to make travel plans. Now seriously you will never be lost with Google maps !

Recently Google was experimenting many design prototypes of search results, and yesterday only over the Google Searchology, Marissa Meyer unveiled the Google universal search which include not only a quick redesign of the top page, but also a new experience for search results. Results now are a mix between web results, images, maps, movies, locale, blogs, books, code, groups ... etc and it will be displayed depending on user search query. For example if you are looking for PHP you will see links for "web," "blogs," "books," "groups," and "code," whereas downtown los angeles will show "web", "news", "maps", and "images".
